Information
Tasked with creating UI concept designs both in-game and frontend screens in Need for Speed – Unbound, the work on this page represents some of the concepts created during the exploration process.
Custom 3D environments with placeholder characters and vehicles were also created and rendered for conceptual purposes. Previz sequences were produced to preview possible motion design options and to refine animation sequences before implementing in-engine.
UI and Menus - Previz
A compilation of a selection of the previz and motion graphics work produced for Criterion Games and EA.
These sequences helped visualize and develop the various in-game cutscenes throughout the game, many featuring UI design.
Mission Summary - UI Menus
Part of the menu design included exploring sequences that explained upcoming objectives and missions.
Motion design was kept in mind, with the concept that these designs would basically represent the last frame of an animation sequence. It would feature the player’s racing vehicle coming to a stop, with the UI overlays animating in.
