Information
An atmospheric production showcase detailing the motion design and look-development for an El Zombo teaser trailer by 400LB Ninja Media. Responsible for handling the Cinema 4D 3D pipeline, compositing, and final post-production steps, the goal was to build a dark, highly cinematic world that feels both ancient and ominous.
The process involved integrating custom assets from 400LB Ninja Media alongside curated stock libraries to build out rich, dense environments. By layering heavy organic overgrowth, deeply shadowed areas, and intense overhead volumetric lighting, the final compositions establish a gritty, textured atmosphere that sets the narrative tone for the trailer.
3D Typography
An important part of the project was ensuring the main title card felt entirely embedded in the trailer’s universe rather than looking like a clean digital overlay. To match the ancient, gritty mood of the jungle environments, the 3D text required extra material look-development. The typography was sculpted with heavily degraded textures, blending deep stone fractures, weathered chips, and eroded edges that capture the look of ruined temple masonry.
By applying realistic surface imperfections and aging details, the text anchors itself naturally into the scene, catching the warm, hazy overhead light exactly like the surrounding rock formations.
