Information

A self-initiated series of cinematic style frames inspired by the scale and atmosphere of the Godzilla universe.  These explorations focus on destruction, texture, and graphic composition.  Composed of many grunge and post-processing, untlizing both 2D and 3D graphic elements.

Art direction, 3D lighting, rendering, and compositing were produced in Blender and Photoshop.  This is unofficial explorative work and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Toho Co., Ltd.

Technical Process

Initial production began by gathering a diverse range of assets for the final composite, including 3D models, grunge layers, scanned textures, ink splats, graphic patterns, and UI elements.

The 3D elements were rendered in Blender using Cycles, utilising a single light source to achieve the harsh, high-contrast shadows required for the style. Photoshop curve adjustments were then used to fine-tune the contrast and precisely control the fall-off between light and shadow.
